Crypto Heatmap
A live market-cap weighted heatmap of the top 100 cryptocurrencies. Block size = market cap, colour = 24-hour price change. Spot which coins are leading the rally or dragging the market down, all in a single view.
What is a crypto heatmap?
A crypto heatmap visualises the entire cryptocurrency market in a single treemap where each coin is represented by a rectangle sized by its market capitalisation and coloured by its price change over a chosen period (typically 24 hours). This format surfaces broad-market sentiment instantly - you don't need to scan hundreds of tickers to know whether crypto is up or down today.
Why crypto traders use the heatmap
- Sector rotation: Spot which sectors (L1s, DeFi, memes, AI, gaming) are leading vs lagging and position with the strongest.
- Alt vs BTC strength: Monitor whether altcoins are outperforming Bitcoin - the classic signal for a risk-on alt-season.
- Narrative discovery: Dense green clusters around a theme often tip a new narrative forming before mainstream coverage.
Heatmap + market-cap data
The size of each block is driven by circulating market cap, not diluted. A high-FDV coin may look small here but have more unlock supply coming. Always cross-reference with the economic calendar for macro catalysts (Fed decisions, CPI) that drive broader crypto flows, and the forex heatmap for USD strength - a stronger dollar typically weighs on crypto risk appetite.
